Silent SIN is part of a series of female trophies in which Paulina Skavová explores the position of women as trophies in contemporary society. By combining the female figure with animal horns, she draws a parallel between the social valuation of female beauty and the value attributed to animal trophies among hunters. Beauty becomes a measure of worth, an object of comparison and a symbol of prestige. Within this logic, a woman becomes evidence of the success of the person who has “won” her.

The translucent glass accentuates both the allure and the vulnerability of the female body. The bowed head and hands joined in front of the body give the figure a quiet, inward presence, framed by the imposing horns. The work raises the question of where admiration for beauty turns into a desire for possession, and what is lost of human individuality when a person is judged primarily by their appearance. The female trophy thus becomes an unsettling image of the values by which contemporary society assigns women their place.
