The horse recurs in Paulina Skavova’s work as a symbol of strength, freedom, and instinct. Equus translates the equine portrait familiar from the large-scale Equus SIN heads into a more intimate format. Within a single head, the character, nobility, and inner energy of the entire animal are concentrated, creating a sculptural distillation of its presence.

The combination of bronze and glass gives the motif a new expression. Bronze emphasizes the physicality and modelling of the portrait, while glass introduces light and optical variability into the work. The reduced scale invites close viewing, allowing the animal’s strength to reveal itself through subtle detail and a sense of quiet concentration.
