Milan Knížák
Treasure
2025
Edition: 1/6 – mix of colors
This work is a fusion of the artist’s long-standing impulses reimagined into glass form. It refers to the event titled Stone Ceremony held in an abandoned quarry in 1971, during which participants arranged stones into circles, silently sat within them, and performed simple ritual actions. The event concluded with a collective ascent to a nearby rock ledge, from which they quietly observed the formations below. Similar stone arrangements also featured in some of Knížák’s Instant Temples, temporary structures that symbolically connected humans with the landscape and emphasized their mutual symbiosis.
