Milan Knížák
Eruption
2024
Edition: 1/6 – mix of colors
The original concept behind this 1983 design was to create a light-based object using a combination of refined and raw materials – an approach frequently found in Knížák’s work.
In collaboration with SIN, the resulting sculpture deliberately contrasts rough and polished glass. Geometric forms made of uranium glass are embedded within an amorphous crystal structure, glowing from within and pushing toward the surface like an explosion of magnetic energy during a solar flare.
