Milan Knížák
Landscape
2024
Edition: 1/6 – red
This sculpture is based on Knížák’s original 1983 design and draws inspiration from his earlier furniture series Landscape (1976), in which he explored the limitless malleability of plastic materials to create an artificial interior landscape that fulfilled all functional needs. His interest in interior space and its roles stems from both psychological and aesthetic considerations. According to Knížák, interiors should be dynamic – constantly shifting environments that support communication, aesthetic experience, spiritual activation, and sensory awareness. He believes it is essential to cultivate genuine artistic experiences through the ordinary phenomena of daily life and everyday needs.
