Pasta Oner

Pasta Oner (1979) is one of the most distinctive figures on the contemporary Czech art scene. In recent years, he has established a strong presence within both independent and public gallery institutions, where his work combines while also transcending the traditional genres of pop art and cartoon aesthetics.

Although his practice engages with the principles of “post-production” and “appropriation”, his work stands apart from the dominant currents of post-conceptual strategies in contemporary art. Within the Czech context, he has forged a distinctive path as a media-savvy, widely recognized, and at times deliberately provocative artist whose work remains accessible without losing a certain degree of conceptual subversion.

At the core of Pasta Oner’s practice is acrylic painting and the creation of wall-based works, alongside the design and production of three-dimensional objects.
