The wall-mounted work depicts another icon of popular culture and a sex symbol — Marilyn Monroe, a figure Pasta Oner has repeatedly revisited in different forms, drawing on the pop art tradition represented by Andy Warhol.

As with the Mickey Mouse sculpture, the artist had previously explored this motif in a different material. This resulted in a series of monochromatic etched reliefs cast in artificial stone, in which Pasta Oner boldly juxtaposes disparate iconic images that playfully undermine and ironize one another.
